The property was hands down the best house we have ever rented. Could not have been better.

It was a beautiful house in a fantastic location. Fully furnished, especially the kitchen with everything you could need to have a relaxing vacation. Added bonus for us was nice weather and we were able to kayak on 2 evenings in mid Oct

Owner's Response: Thank you, Jesse and Diane, for your gracious words! We are, of course, delighted to hear that the house worked so well for you and your family. You timed the weather well for an October visit. Two days after you left we had quite a little storm that knocked power out for half the day. We were especially appreciative of the care and effort you made to leave the house in such good condition - thank you! - Jill and Henry

Gorgeous Home with Gorgeous Views

In all the years we have rented homes this is by far the nicest home and with the most fantastic views of Puget Sound and every single amenity you can possibly think of. I was looking for some BBQ tools and found an oyster shucking knife and a glove to go with it! I brought my own, but it was indicative of the detail Henry and Jill provide to make sure their guests are not left wanting anything. And that was certainly the case here.

The separate bedroom suites for our group was perfect for everyone along with laundry facilities top and bottom. The BBQ got a good work out as did the nice comfortable deck furniture. And we had a mild heat wave (90 degrees!) while we were there so the paddle boards and kayaks got quite a workout until 9pm because it stays light for so long. And then watching the tides go in and out and exploring the tide pools was fun for the kids and adults as well.

The house location makes visiting Seattle by ferry (why would you go any other way?) very nice as well. Just can't get enough Ferris Wheel rides for the young ones. And you can walk up to the little village and enjoy the food and drink offered there as well.

So if you are looking for a fantastic water home in the Pacific North West, with every amenity imaginable, then look no further- this is your place that is being graciously shared by Henry and Jill.

Owner's Response: Hi Tom and Linda - we are thrilled that you had such a wonderful time with your family at our home. In our opinion, family vacations are some of the memories that will be cherished by all for the rest of your lives. Thank you for the very gracious words! You did a wonderful job leaving the house in great condition - thank you! You and your family are welcome anytime and we hope we see you again! - Jill and Henry

This is a beautiful home! The view out on the water was lovely and it was great fun to watch the birds, especially the kingfisher!

We were a group of seven and there was plenty of space to gather together or find solitude. There were many amenities. Extremely comfortable.

Owner's Response: Thank you, Kathleen! And thank you for leaving the house in such great shape! - Jill and Henry

This lovely home situated right on the water, walking distance to Lynwood and a short drive to the ferry suited our group's needs perfectly!
The home's lovely deck and outdoor space was an added bonus. We were a group of 7 with plenty of beautifully appointed bedrooms and bathrooms, a gourmet kitchen and dining space for all of us.
Our host was attentive to our group's needs and provided all the local info we needed on the area. I would highly recommend this home for a group or family of 7-8 people.

We had a great week on Bainbridge Island and renting this particular home was ideal.

Owner's Response: Thank you, Margaret! You and your your group were great guests! - Jill and Henry

We rented this home for our family during the week of our son's wedding. We had lots of projects to finish and loved having space that worked well for gathering and spending time together, as well as organizing for all the wedding activities. We arranged flowers on the front stoop, wrapped candles in vines and birch bark in the utility room, ironed wrinkles out of bridesmaid dresses in the laundry rooms and worked out seating arrangements on the table next to the kitchen. Our oldest, the groom, even found time for a wedding day work-out in the upstairs home gym.

The view of Puget Sound with Washington State ferries passing nearby was absolutely spectacular. We saw eagles every day and loved watching the landscape change hour by hour with the tides. This was the perfect place for us to call home for a very important and memorable week in our lives. The owners were super nice and did a great job communicating with us, before and after our stay. We can't wait to come back again, only next time, it will hopefully be to enjoy a week of rest and relaxation!

Owner's Response: Hi Pam and Scott - Thank you so much for the gracious comments. We are thrilled to hear that everything worked out so well for your son's wedding (and that he is extra buff after the wedding day workout - ha, ha)! We hope to see you again - you are always welcome! Jill & Henry

Jaw Dropping View

The house is fantastic but the view it truly incredible! All rooms on the back of the house have a jaw dropping view of the Puget Sound. From the moment you walk in the front door all you'll be able to do is stare at the gorgeousness outside. From the house you can see the Bremerton ferry go back and forth to Seattle and, I must say, the view of it at night is majestic! The house has everything you need to stay in and cook but it is also literally within feet of several outstanding restaurants. While we did make coffee at the house, a few of us also took a daily stroll to The Marketplace for some "fancy" coffee. We also mostly cooked in but did enjoy Father's Day brunch at The Manor House, dinner one night at the Treehouse and also The Beach House.

This is the 11th year my husband and I have traveled with our extended family to see a new (to us) area of the country and I've never worked with someone as hand's on and personable as Henry. He was always available to answer any questions I had and Jill called the morning after we arrived to ensure everything was working and to answer any questions we may have had. The information packet they send to their guests is fantastic and the bottle of local wine they left as a welcome goodie did not last long.

Honestly, I hate to write such a glowing review as that means I'll have more competition when we try to book it again. I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. We've been home several days now and I'm still having withdrawals from that view!!

Owner's Response: Hi Cyndi and Lee – Thank you so much for the gracious words! We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the house and the location and the “jaw dropping” view. No one has used that description before, but we like it! Thank you for taking such good care of the house and for leaving it so neat and tidy! You and your family are always welcome back! - Jill and Henry

This property has it all......Beautifully furnished, top of the line amenities and a view that is stunning. The beds were comfortable and each room felt like being at a five star Hotel. We were here for a wedding which was conveniently located in the village across the street. All the people in Lynwood center were extremely friendly and made us feel at home. Would definitely recommend this property for any occasion or just a beautiful getaway.

Owner's Response: Hi Mike - thank you for the gracious review! You are always welcome!

Such a gorgeous home in every way and we were so pleased you shared it with us. Elegance everywhere, top of the line accessories in the kitchen, tasteful furnishings...everything needed was provided. The four bedrooms were quality throughout and tastefully done with a view and a private bath for each. We had a few good cooks in our group and there was a pot, bowl or utensil for whatever they needed. The kayaks were fun for young and older in the sheltered bay out front. The close-by convenience of Lynwood Center, restaurants and shops near the house was a bonus, but in the house or on the beach you would never know you were on the edge of the village. This was a special time for me at age 87 to spend quality time with my kids and a few grandkids and we all had a great time in the luxury of your lovely home. All in all a wonderful stay. We will be back.

Owner's Response: Hi Katherine -
We are glad to hear that you and your family thoroughly enjoyed your stay!
You are welcome back any time!

Youngest Daughter's Magical Wedding

Everyone came from the east coast for my daughter's wedding and everyone was impressed with the Pleasant Beach area... the village, the shops, the restaurants, the people, the weather and the Island. Those in the family that stayed with us for the week had a special treat... this home. The setting is as spectacular as the interior...spacious, breathtaking and private all at once! Nothing has been overlooked and everything is immaculate. We certainly plan on coming back. (A word of caution...you don't have to get married to enjoy this experience although you might just fall in love !)

Owner's Response: Thank you Russ and Sally for the very kind and clever words! It was a pleasure talking to Russ on the phone. We certainly are happy to hear that the wedding was magical and that you enjoyed Bainbridge Island and our home. Our best wishes to the newlyweds - may their life together be just as magical! You did a terrific job taking care of our house and you are always welcome back! - Jill and Henry

Beautiful spacious home with a wonderful view!

This home is beautifully situated on Puget Sound on Bainbridge Island. The room has ample, comfortable room for gathering, meals and enjoying the outside. The four bedrooms have comfortable beds, private bath accomodations and three have views of the water. Henry was incredibly helpful in preparing us for the visit - including suggestions for dining, sightseeing and getting around. The house guidebook really made it easy for us to settle in comfortably. My kids and grandkids had fun in the kayaks and we made s’mores by the campfire at night. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals, you can travel light because of the washer/dryers and there is plenty to keep you busy!

We rented a car for side trips but walked on the ferry to get to Seattle. It is an easy walk to get to Pike’s Place and not too far to get to the monorail to get to the needle, EMP and Chihuly gardens. It was a holiday weekend and we experienced some delays the day we took the car to the Boeing plant but overall, the ferry was great fun.

One note for those traveling with kids - several of the restaurants do not allow people under 21 in the evening so plan accordingly. Fortunately the Treehouse has an area - and the food is very good.

This was a great way for us to experience both Seattle and nature and Henry and Jill are extremely accommodating hosts.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for the kind words, Christina! We are glad that you had a nice time and enjoyed the house and the Seattle area! You had some fantastic weather, too! Thank you also for taking such good care of our home!. You are always welcome! - Jill and Henry

Fantastic Home

We had a mini family reunion weekend at this home at the end of February and found it to be absolutely perfect (the pictures don't do it justice-it is even better in person)! We had 5 adults and 2 kids ages 6 & 8. One adult was elderly and so the first floor bedroom/bathroom suite was perfect for her. 2 of the adults and their children stayed in the 2 bedrooms on one side of the upstairs and 2 adults stayed in the master suite which had a very big & comfortable bed with a beautiful master bath and shower. Large open spaces for us to be together for visiting, eating and playing board games. The kitchen was fabulous, clean and well laid out, with lots of prep space and the views from the kitchen were just amazing. It is beautifully decorated with furnishings and artwork. It has a large deck just off the kitchen & living room and fire pit area all overlooking the water and beach. Sitting on the deck, you also get to see the ferry's and other watercraft going by. Very close by the home were restaurants, café for coffee, wine and cheese boutique and a small market, all with a European feel. Not too far away (driving distance) was a Safeway which had everything we needed in the way of groceries. It was quiet and relaxing and we even managed to luck out on a sunny weekend which was great for the end of February. We did some sightseeing on the island and found many restaurants and shops. Our trip was all too short and we sure didn't even scratch the surface of things to do on the island. We drove to the island on Friday (over the bridge) and took the ferry back to Seattle on Sunday. The ferry was super convenient. We are hoping to return someday and we would highly recommend this home for your get away.

Owner's Response: Hi Becky - thank you very much for the gracious review! We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed our home and the Island and that you even had a sunny weekend in February! And thank you so much for leaving the house in such great shape. You and your family are always welcome! - Henry & Jill

Best Part of Seattle Area

This home is a True Gem! Every room has a stunning view of Puget Sound, Plenty of Room to Spread Out and Plenty of Room to Gather, very inviting outdoor space right at the waters edge and the Kitchen is awesome. A very short walk to fine dining, Cafe/Pub & Pool Hall, Burgers and Pizza, Bakery, Wine & Cheese and a small Market in the very charming town of Lynwood Center, yet you will never feel like you are anywhere but a quiet beach home. We found some great hiking on Bainbridge Island. We were thrilled to find the Town & Country Market as we have 2 members of our family that require a Gluten and Dairy Free Diet and the selection there was truly outstanding. You could easily spend a week just exploring Bainbridge Island and there is an almost endless number of possible day trips from this location which we feel is very centrally located to the overall region. The Ferry Service to Seattle was very convenient, and you can drive to many location north, south and west of the Island. The owners are extremely helpful in helping plan you trip and making sure you have a great stay. Cannot say enough good things about this home, this location, or this region! Excellent! Second to None!

Owner's Response: Thank you, Scott, for your very gracious comments! We are thrilled that you and your family so thoroughly enjoyed your first visit to the region! We hope you can come back again sometime to experience the awesome summers in the Seattle area. Thank you, too, for taking such good care of our home! Best wishes and Happy Holidays to you and your family! - Jill and Henry

Great time on Bainbridge Island

Our group of six adults travels often together, and we frequently stay in VRBO homes. This beautiful home on Bainbridge Island Washington is definitely among the best we have enjoyed. It is beautifully appointed and very comfortable, yet we all felt we had our privacy in our own suite with private bath and decks. We stayed 9 days and enjoyed many of the sights of the island, especially the Bloedel Mansion and gardens. A day trip to Olympic National Park, as well as Poulsbo were on the list. The ferry to Seattle was very easy and fun, and we especially enjoyed the Chihuly exhibit and the scenic locks harbor tour. Every evening after a full day of touring it was relaxing to return to this beautiful home and enjoy a glass of wine on the deck overlooking the Puget Sound. The town of Lynwood is a short walk to for dinner or pastries. Winslow is a quaint town with shops and restaurants and just a short car ride away. The owner’s guidebook was very clear with explicit instructions for our stay as well as suggestions for restaurants and activities. We definitely recommend this vacation home and would look forward to staying here again.

Owner's Response: Thank you Rod and Peggy for such kind words! We really enjoy hearing about all the things you and your friends did while you were here. While you were out-and-about a lot, we are glad to hear that you spent some time on the deck enjoying the view with a glass of wine in hand. We never get tired of doing the same. And thank you so much for the great care you took of our house - you are always welcome! - Jill and Henry
